1. Who we are
Orango LLC (“Orango,” “we,” “us”) is a Wisconsin limited liability company that provides online chemistry tutoring through theorango.com. This policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit our website, contact us, book a session, or work with one of our tutors.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us:
- Contact form: your name, email address, and message.
- Booking: when you book through our scheduling provider (Acuity Scheduling), your name, email address, phone number if provided, course details, and any information you enter in the booking form.
- Class materials: notes, slides, homework, study guides, or other files you upload so your tutor can prepare your lesson.
- Payment: payments are processed by our scheduling provider and its payment processors. We do not receive or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically: like most websites, our site and its hosting provider may collect basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device, and pages visited, using cookies and similar technologies.
3. How we use your information
- To schedule, prepare, and deliver your tutoring sessions.
- To review your class materials and plan your lessons.
- To respond to your questions and send session-related messages such as confirmations and reminders.
- To process payments and keep business records.
- To maintain and improve our website and services.
If we ever send promotional emails, you can unsubscribe at any time.
4. Your class materials
Materials you upload are used only to prepare and teach your sessions. We do not publish them, sell them, or share them with other students. You can ask us to delete your uploaded materials at any time by emailing info@theorango.com.
5. Session recordings
Sessions are not routinely recorded. Orango may occasionally record a session for its own instructional use or to provide to the student. Sessions with a student under 18 are recorded only with a parent or guardian’s permission. Any recording is kept private, is not published or shared with others, and remains Orango’s property. Students may not record sessions themselves. See our Terms and Conditions for details.
6. How we share information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run Orango, such as our website host (Webflow), scheduling and payment provider (Acuity Scheduling), video platform (Zoom), and email provider, and only as needed to provide our services. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of Orango, our students, or others.
7. Cookies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to function and to understand how it is used. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as intended.
8. Students under 18
Orango tutors high school students, many of whom are under 18. Students under 18 may book sessions themselves with the permission of a parent or guardian, or a parent or guardian may book on their behalf. By booking, users confirm they are 18 or older or have this permission; Orango does not independently verify age. Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe we have collected such information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide our services, keep business and tax records, and meet legal obligations. After that, we delete it or keep it in a form that no longer identifies you.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you promotional messages. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable law. To make a request, email info@theorango.com.
